
Clinical Nurse - Duke Perinatal

- Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients and their families in the perinatal unit.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to provide safe and effective nursing care.
- Monitor and assess patients' physical and emotional well-being, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families on postpartum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding techniques.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
- Utilize advanced technology and equipment to provide the best possible care.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current on best practices and advancements in perinatal care.
- Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced nurses and other healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Continuously strive to improve the quality of care and processes within the perinatal unit.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the nurse manager or supervisor.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) From An Accredited Institution: A Clinical Nurse At Duke Perinatal Must Have A Bsn Degree To Demonstrate A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.
Current Rn License In The State Of North Carolina: A Valid And Active Rn License Is Required To Practice Nursing In The State Of North Carolina And Is A Non-Negotiable Qualification For This Role.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In Perinatal Nursing: This Role Requires A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Specifically In The Field Of Perinatal Nursing. This Experience Will Ensure The Candidate Has A Strong Understanding Of The Unique Needs Of Pregnant And Postpartum Patients.
Certification In Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (Rnc-Ob): Possessing A Certification In Inpatient Obstetric Nursing From The National Certification Corporation (Ncc) Demonstrates A Specialized Knowledge And Skill Set In Caring For High-Risk Pregnant And Postpartum Patients.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Fast-Paced And Highly Collaborative Environment, A Clinical Nurse At Duke Perinatal Must Possess Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Coordinate Care With Other Healthcare Professionals And Ensure The Best Outcomes For Patients.
