  1. Conduct nutrition assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans for patients based on their medical history, dietary needs, and goals.
  2. Educate patients and their families on healthy eating habits, including meal planning, portion control, and food selection.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care and promote overall patient wellness.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making necessary adjustments to nutrition plans as needed.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest nutrition research and trends to provide evidence-based recommendations to patients.
  6. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards in nutrition practice, including confidentiality and patient rights.
  7. Document all patient interactions and maintain accurate records in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  8. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to treatment planning for patients.
  9. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all infection control protocols.
  10. Serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals, providing nutrition education and support as needed.
  11. Actively participate in professional development activities and maintain required licenses and certifications.
  12. Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care and upholding the mission and values of Duke University Health System.
  13. Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
  14. Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or department leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics From An Accredited University.

  • Registered Dietitian (Rd) Credential From The Commission On Dietetic Registration.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Nutrition Therapy And Ability To Create Individualized Nutrition Plans.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
