Job Description

At Duke University Health System, we are looking for an experienced and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team and provide excellent patient care. The ideal candidate has experience in a behavioral health setting, has a commitment to providing excellent patient care, and is knowledgeable about the latest trends in care. The Behavioral Health Technician will be an integral part of our team and provide direct patient care in a respectful and supportive environment.The Behavioral Health Technician must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as psychology, nursing, or social work, and have at least one year of experience in a behavioral health setting. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to providing quality care to their patients. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people in need and is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of those we serve. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care in a respectful and supportive environment.
  2. Monitor patient behavior and progress and provide suggestions for improvement.
  3. Follow established protocols and treatment plans.
  4. Educate patients on behavioral health topics.
  5. Collaborate with other members of the patient care team.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  7. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the physician.
  8. Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  9. Assist with the development of individual treatment plans.
  10. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families.
