Job Description

The Duke University Health System is looking for an experienced and motivated Athletic Trainer to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for helping athletes reach their goals and will be committed to providing world-class care. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, has excellent communication skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field, a current Athletic Training certification from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC), and a minimum of one year of experience in a related field. Experience with NCAA Division I athletes is a plus. The successful candidate should also have strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology, as well as a comprehensive understanding of sport-specific injury management and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide world-class care to athletes to help them reach their goals.
  2. Develop individualized treatment plans for athletes.
  3. Maintain records of athletes' health and treatment plans.
  4. Monitor athletes' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  5. Educate athletes and their families on injury prevention and sport-specific safety protocols.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for athletes.
  7. Administer emergency medical care as needed.
  8. Assist with game day medical coverage and coverage of practices and training sessions.
  9. Ensure compliance with NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
  10. Demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology.
