
Air Medical Communications Specialist

- Coordinate and facilitate all communication for air medical transport team, including radio communications, phone calls, and other forms of communication.
- Monitor weather and flight patterns to ensure safe and timely transport of patients.
- Communicate critical information to air medical transport team, including patient condition, location, and any potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all communication activities.
- Serve as a liaison between air medical transport team, ground medical personnel, and other emergency response agencies.
- Prioritize and manage multiple communication channels simultaneously.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to make quick and accurate decisions in high-stress situations.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency protocols and procedures, and assist in emergency response as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to continuously improve communication processes and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and other medical personnel.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and technological advancements in air medical communication.
- Contribute to a positive and professional work environment, demonstrating teamwork and a strong work ethic.
- Adhere to all Duke University Health System policies and procedures.
- Attend and actively participate in all required trainings and meetings.
A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Medical Communications Or Dispatch Role.
Excellent Communication And Multitasking Skills, With The Ability To Remain Calm And Organized In High-Pressure Situations.
Proficiency In Medical Terminology And Understanding Of Emergency Medical Procedures.
Knowledge Of Federal Aviation Administration (Faa) Regulations And Guidelines Related To Air Medical Transport.
Current Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (Acls).
