
Fleet Safety Supervisor

- Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet safety program to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor and analyze fleet safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of fleet vehicles, equipment, and facilities to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.
- Train and educate fleet drivers on safe driving practices, defensive driving techniques, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of fleet safety training, inspections, and incidents.
- Partner with vendors and suppliers to ensure the safety and compliance of all fleet vehicles and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices related to fleet safety and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement strategies for reducing fleet-related costs and improving overall fleet safety performance.
- Serve as a point of contact for all fleet safety-related inquiries and concerns.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with DOT regulations, including driver hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and record-keeping.
- Conduct regular meetings with fleet drivers to discuss safety performance, address concerns, and provide coaching and feedback.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
- Participate in safety committees and represent the company in industry-related meetings and events.
Experience In Fleet Management And Safety: The Ideal Candidate For This Role Should Possess At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Managing And Overseeing Vehicle Fleets, With A Strong Focus On Safety Protocols And Procedures. This Experience Should Include A Proven Track Record Of Implementing Successful Safety Programs And Initiatives.
Knowledge Of Dot Regulations: As A Fleet Safety Supervisor At Dollar General, The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of All Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations And Requirements. This Includes Knowledge Of Hours Of Service, Drug And Alcohol Testing, Vehicle Maintenance, And Other Safety-Related Regulations.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills: The Candidate Should Have Excellent Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Drivers, Management, And Other Stakeholders. This Includes The Ability To Train And Educate Drivers On Safety Procedures And Regulations, As Well As The Ability To Address And Resolve Any Safety-Related Issues That May Arise.
Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Abilities: In This Role, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Conducting Safety Audits, Investigating Accidents, And Identifying Potential Safety Hazards. Therefore, Strong Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Abilities Are Essential Qualifications For This Position.
Safety Certifications And Training: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Relevant Safety Certifications, Such As A Certified Director Of Safety (Cds) Or Certified Transportation Safety And Security Professional (Ctssp), And Should Be Up-To-Date On All Relevant Safety Training And Continuing Education Courses.
