  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for the company's fleet of drivers.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
  3. Train and educate drivers on safe driving practices and the importance of adhering to company safety standards.
  4. Monitor and track driver performance to identify areas for improvement and provide coaching and training as needed.
  5. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents involving company vehicles and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  6. Maintain accurate records of safety training, incidents, and compliance with regulations.
  7. Communicate with upper management and other departments to ensure safety policies and procedures are understood and followed.
  8. Stay current on industry regulations and make recommendations for updates to company policies and procedures as needed.
  9. Collaborate with fleet maintenance team to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and equipped with necessary safety features.
  10. Conduct regular safety meetings and provide updates on safety initiatives and performance.
  11. Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in safety audits and inspections.
  12. Develop and maintain relationships with outside safety organizations and participate in industry events and conferences.
  13. Identify and implement cost-effective safety measures to reduce accidents and injuries.
  14. Assist in the recruitment and training of new drivers to ensure compliance with company safety standards.
  15. Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals to achieve company safety goals and objectives.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Fmcsa) Regulations: A Fleet Safety Supervisor At Dollar General Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Fmcsa Regulations And Keep Up-To-Date With Any Changes Or Updates To Ensure Compliance.

  • Experience In Fleet Safety Management: Candidates For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In Managing Fleet Safety Programs, Including Accident Prevention, Driver Training, And Vehicle Maintenance.

  • Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Fleet Safety Supervisor, You Will Be Responsible For Communicating Safety Policies And Procedures To Drivers And Other Team Members. Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills Are Essential For This Role.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Abilities: In This Role, You Will Be Required To Analyze Data And Identify Trends To Make Informed Decisions Regarding Fleet Safety. The Ability To Think Critically And Problem-Solve Is Crucial For A Fleet Safety Supervisor.

  • Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) And/Or Transportation Safety Certification: Having A Cdl Or Certification In Transportation Safety Is Highly Preferred For This Role And Demonstrates A Comprehensive Understanding Of Commercial Driving Regulations And Safety Practices.
