  1. Develop and implement fleet safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of all company vehicles and equipment.
  3. Monitor driver behavior and performance through data analysis and on-site observations.
  4. Train and educate drivers on safe driving practices and company policies.
  5. Investigate and report any accidents or safety incidents, providing recommendations for prevention.
  6. Collaborate with the Human Resources department to ensure all drivers are properly trained and licensed.
  7. Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incidents.
  8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current safety programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to fleet safety and make necessary adjustments to company policies.
  10. Communicate regularly with management and other departments to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  11. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure all equipment and vehicles meet safety standards.
  12. Conduct regular meetings with drivers to address any safety concerns and provide updates on policies and procedures.
  13. Develop emergency response plans and procedures for accidents or incidents.
  14. Collaborate with insurance providers to ensure proper coverage and compliance with safety requirements.
  15. Represent the company during safety audits and inspections by regulatory agencies.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Knowledge Of Fleet Safety Regulations: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Should Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Related To Fleet Safety. This Includes Knowledge Of Department Of Transportation (Dot) Rules, Hours Of Service (Hos) Regulations, And Vehicle Maintenance Requirements.

  • Strong Leadership Skills: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Drivers And Other Fleet Personnel. They Must Possess Excellent Leadership Skills To Effectively Train, Coach, And Motivate Their Team To Adhere To Safety Protocols And Regulations.

  • Experience In Fleet Safety Management: A Candidate For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In Fleet Safety Management, Preferably In A Similar Industry. They Should Be Familiar With Conducting Safety Audits, Developing Safety Policies, And Implementing Corrective Actions.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As The Primary Point Of Contact For All Fleet Safety Matters, The Fleet Safety Supervisor Must Have Exceptional Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Drivers, Management, And Other Stakeholders. They Should Also Have Strong Interpersonal Skills To Handle Any Conflicts Or Challenges That May Arise.

  • Attention To Detail And Analytical Thinking: Fleet Safety Involves Monitoring And Analyzing Data To Identify Potential Hazards And Areas For Improvement. The Fleet Safety Supervisor Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Think Critically To Develop Solutions And Strategies To Enhance Safety Performance. They Should Also Be Proficient In Using Data Analysis Tools And Software.
