
Fleet Safety Supervisor

- Develop and implement a comprehensive fleet safety program in accordance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of vehicles, equipment, and driver practices to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the transportation and operations teams to ensure all drivers are properly trained and equipped to safely operate company vehicles.
- Stay up-to-date on federal and state regulations regarding fleet safety and ensure compliance.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents involving company vehicles, and develop and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Provide regular safety training and education to drivers and other employees on safe driving practices, defensive driving, and accident prevention.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure the safety and maintenance of fleet vehicles.
- Keep detailed records and documentation of all safety-related activities and incidents, and provide reports to management as needed.
- Collaborate with Human Resources to develop and enforce policies and procedures related to driver safety, including drug and alcohol testing.
- Serve as a point of contact for any safety-related concerns or inquiries from employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in fleet safety, and make recommendations for improvements to the company's safety program.
- Act as a role model for safe driving practices and lead by example in promoting a culture of safety within the company.
- Monitor and track the company's safety performance and develop goals and initiatives to continually improve safety outcomes.
- Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure proper coverage for company vehicles and drivers.
- Participate in company meetings and training sessions to provide updates and insights on fleet safety.
Experience In Fleet Safety Management: A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Managing Fleet Safety Programs, Preferably In A Retail Or Distribution Environment.
Knowledge Of Dot Regulations And Compliance: In-Depth Knowledge Of Usdot Regulations, Including Hours Of Service (Hos), Driver Qualifications, Vehicle Maintenance, And Record-Keeping Requirements.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills: Ability To Effectively Communicate With And Train Employees, As Well As Manage And Lead A Team Of Drivers And Safety Staff.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient In Analyzing Data And Identifying Trends To Develop And Implement Effective Safety Initiatives And Programs.
Safety Certification: Possessing A Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) And Certifications Such As Certified Director Of Safety (Cds) Or Certified Safety Supervisor (Css) Will Be Preferred.
