  • Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for all fleet operations, including vehicle inspections, driver training, and accident prevention measures
  • Monitor and evaluate driver performance to identify areas for improvement and provide ongoing coaching and training as needed
  • Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, documenting findings and making recommendations for preventative measures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Regularly review and update safety policies and procedures to ensure they align with industry best practices and continuously improve safety standards
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of vehicles and facilities to identify any potential safety hazards and take appropriate corrective actions
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in fleet safety to proactively identify and implement new strategies and technologies to enhance safety measures
  • Serve as a point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees and stakeholders, providing timely and effective resolutions
  • Communicate regularly with management and senior leadership to provide updates on safety performance and make recommendations for improvement
  • Create and maintain detailed records and reports on safety incidents, training, and compliance to comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Fleet Safety Regulations And Compliance: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Federal And State Regulations Related To Fleet Safety, Including Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations And Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Fmcsa) Guidelines.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential For A Fleet Safety Supervisor, As They Will Need To Regularly Communicate With Drivers, Management, And Other Stakeholders To Ensure Compliance And Address Safety Concerns.

  • Previous Experience In Fleet Management Or Transportation Safety: A Qualified Candidate For This Role Should Have Previous Experience In Fleet Management Or Transportation Safety, Preferably In A Supervisory Or Managerial Role. This Will Demonstrate Their Knowledge And Ability To Oversee A Fleet Safety Program.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Should Be Able To Analyze Data And Identify Trends To Develop Effective Safety Strategies. They Should Also Have Strong Problem-Solving Skills To Address Safety Issues And Develop Solutions To Prevent Future Incidents.

  • Leadership And Team Management Skills: As A Supervisor, The Fleet Safety Supervisor Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Drivers And Safety Personnel. They Should Have Strong Leadership Skills To Motivate And Guide Their Team Towards A Culture Of Safety And Compliance.
