- Provide guidance and support to drivers and other employees regarding safety protocols.
- Serve as a point of contact for any safety-related inquiries or concerns.
- Continuously evaluate and improve the company's overall safety program.
Knowledge Of Safety Regulations: A Qualified Fleet Safety Supervisor At Dollar General Should Possess A Thorough Understanding Of Federal, State, And Local Safety Regulations Related To Fleet Operations. This Includes But Is Not Limited To The Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (Fmcsa) Rules, And Occupational Safety And Health Administration (Osha) Guidelines.
Experience In Fleet Management: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Prior Experience In Managing A Fleet Of Vehicles. This Includes Knowledge Of Fleet Maintenance, Vehicle Tracking Systems, And Ensuring Compliance With Vehicle Safety Standards.
Strong Communication Skills: As A Fleet Safety Supervisor, Effective Communication Is Essential. This Role Involves Working With Drivers, Management, And Other Team Members To Promote Safety And Address Any Issues That May Arise. Therefore, Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are A Must.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: A Fleet Safety Supervisor Should Possess Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Identify Potential Hazards And Develop Effective Safety Procedures. They Should Also Be Able To Analyze Data And Make Strategic Decisions To Improve Overall Fleet Safety.
