  • Investigate and report any accidents or incidents involving fleet vehicles
  • Monitor and maintain records of fleet maintenance and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe for operation
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in fleet safety management
  • Lead and motivate a team of safety professionals to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Fleet Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Managing A Fleet Of Vehicles, Preferably In A Retail Or Logistics Setting. They Should Be Familiar With Maintaining And Tracking Vehicle Maintenance Records, Ensuring Compliance With Safety Regulations, And Overseeing Vehicle Inspections.

  • Knowledge Of Dot Regulations: A Fleet Safety Supervisor At Dollar General Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations, Including Hours-Of-Service Rules, Drug And Alcohol Testing Requirements, And Vehicle Weight Restrictions. They Should Also Be Familiar With State-Specific Regulations Pertaining To Commercial Vehicles.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For A Fleet Safety Supervisor, As They Will Be Responsible For Training And Educating Drivers On Safety Best Practices, Conducting Safety Meetings, And Communicating Any Changes In Policies Or Procedures. The Candidate Should Have Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Information To Drivers, Management, And Other Team Members.

  • Attention To Detail: Attention To Detail Is Key To Ensuring The Safety Of Dollar General's Fleet. The Fleet Safety Supervisor Should Be Able To Identify Potential Safety Hazards, Conduct Thorough Vehicle Inspections, And Review Driver Logs And Records For Accuracy. They Should Also Have Strong Analytical Skills To Identify Trends Or Patterns In Safety Data And Implement Solutions To Prevent Future Incidents.

  • Leadership And Team Management: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing A Team Of Drivers And Other Fleet Personnel.
