- Develop and implement fleet safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee the training and development of all fleet drivers to promote safe driving practices and reduce the risk of accidents.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment to identify and address potential safety hazards.
- Investigate and report all accidents and incidents involving fleet vehicles, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions are taken.
- Collaborate with fleet managers and other department leaders to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance safety performance.
- Monitor and analyze fleet safety data to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement.
- Conduct safety meetings and trainings for fleet drivers and other relevant staff to promote a culture of safety and compliance.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles are properly maintained and equipped with necessary safety features and equipment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations related to fleet safety and make recommendations for changes to policies and procedures as needed.
- Serve as a role model for safe driving practices and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Experience In Fleet Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Managing A Fleet Of Vehicles, Preferably In A Retail Or Distribution Environment.
Knowledge Of Dot Regulations: A Strong Understanding Of Department Of Transportation (Dot) Regulations And Compliance Requirements Is Essential For This Role To Ensure The Safety And Legality Of All Fleet Operations.
Excellent Communication Skills: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Will Need To Effectively Communicate With Drivers, Management, And Other Stakeholders To Promote Safety Initiatives, Provide Training, And Address Any Safety Concerns.
Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Ability To Analyze Data, Identify Trends, And Develop Solutions To Prevent Accidents And Improve Safety Is Crucial For This Role.
Leadership And Team Management: The Fleet Safety Supervisor Will Be Responsible For Leading And Managing A Team Of Fleet Drivers, So Previous Experience In A Supervisory Role Is Preferred. Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Motivate And Train Team Members Are Also Important Qualifications For This Position.
