Manager - Pastoral Care

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Manager of Pastoral Care to join the team at Dignity Health. The successful candidate will be highly organized, with a strong sense of empathy and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for providing spiritual support to patients, families, and staff, as well as providing educational and training support to pastoral care providers. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, or related field, and at least 5 years of professional experience in pastoral care. You must have a comprehensive understanding of major faith traditions and be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. A Certified Chaplain, or other relevant Board Certification is highly preferred. Responsibilities:

1. Provide spiritual support to patients, families, and staff.
2. Develop and implement effective pastoral care programs.
3. Develop and deliver educational and training programs for pastoral care providers.
4. Manage and coordinate staff and volunteers within the pastoral care department.
5. Maintain knowledge of major faith traditions and their practices.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and faith-based organizations.
7. Monitor and assess the quality of care provided by pastoral care providers.
8. Develop and implement policies and procedures according to organizational standards and best practices.
9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and other meetings as needed.
10. Provide crisis intervention and emergency pastoral care as needed.
