As a Distillery Manager at Diageo, you will play a pivotal role in the creation of some of the world’s most iconic spirits. You will be held accountable for the efficient and safe operation of the distillery, while maintaining a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency. You will be a leader in the organization and a champion of our values.We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years of distillery experience, preferably in a managerial role. You should have a thorough understanding of distillation operations, engineering, safety standards, and operational management. An advanced degree in engineering, operations, or business is preferred.You should have strong organizational and communication skills, able to work independently and efficiently to manage daily operations. You should have a desire to continuously learn, develop, and grow, with the ability to think strategically and implement solutions. You will need to have a passion for creating high-quality products and a commitment to Diageo’s core values.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the distillery to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve safety, quality, and efficiency of distillery operations.
- Maintain a culture of safety and quality.
- Lead and motivate staff to ensure they are meeting operational objectives.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators and metrics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
- Use problem-solving and decision-making skills to resolve complex issues.
- Develop and implement process improvements and cost-savings initiatives.
- Prepare and submit reports to upper management.
- Provide technical expertise related to distillation operations.
