Job Description

In this role, you will play a vital role in the treatment and healing of our patients' wounds, working alongside our experienced wound care team.   1. Perform wound assessments and document findings accurately and thoroughly.
  2. Collaborate with the wound care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  3. Administer wound care treatments, including but not limited to debridement, dressing changes, and wound irrigation.
  4. Monitor and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  5. Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques and proper wound care at home.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans and progress notes.
  7. Ensure that all wound care equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stocked.
  8. Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infection.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and education related to wound care techniques and equipment.
  11. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and confidentiality protocols.
  12. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the wound healing process.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  14. Stay current with industry developments and advancements in wound care treatments.
  15. Adhere to all ethical and legal standards of practice.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Wound Care Specialist: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Possess A Certification In Wound Care From A Recognized Institution.

  • Experience In Wound Care: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Wound Care, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Wound Care Products: A Thorough Understanding Of Different Types Of Wound Dressings, Medications, And Other Wound Care Products Is Essential For This Role.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Wound Care Technicians At Deaconess Health System Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: Wound Care Requires Meticulous Attention To Detail To Properly Assess And Treat Wounds. Candidates For This Position Should Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Treatment Protocols Accurately.
