- Accurately and efficiently handle and process laboratory specimens according to established protocols and procedures.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of specimen information.
- Prepare specimens for testing and ensure proper labeling and identification.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and patients regarding specimen collection and processing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies with specimen handling or processing.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and ensure adequate levels are maintained.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines related to specimen processing.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in specimen processing.
- Train and mentor new employees on laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in laboratory technology and procedures.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas for improving processes and patient care.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Specimen Processor I Or Equivalent Role In A Clinical Laboratory Setting.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment, Including Sample Collection, Processing, And Handling.
Proficiency In Using Laboratory Information Systems And Data Entry.
Strong Attention To Detail And Ability To Accurately Follow Protocols And Procedures.
Excellent Organizational And Time Management Skills, With The Ability To Prioritize And Multitask In A Fast-Paced Environment.
