1. Receive and accession patient specimens according to established protocols and procedures.
2. Verify accuracy of patient information and specimen labeling.
3. Process and prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
4. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
5. Follow standardized procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of specimens.
6. Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and precision of results.
7. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimens processed.
8. Communicate any issues or discrepancies with specimens to appropriate personnel.
9. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
10. Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure timely and efficient processing of specimens.
11. Assist in training and mentoring new staff members.
12. Stay updated on current laboratory procedures and technology.
13. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
14. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
15. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
16. Follow all HIPAA and patient confidentiality guidelines.
