Job Description

Deaconess Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Surgical Trauma ICU (RN) to join our esteemed medical team. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled individual who is ready to take on the challenge of providing exceptional care to our patients with life-threatening injuries and illnesses. The successful candidate will be someone who is able to prioritize patient safety and quality of care while working in a fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate will possess valid RN licensure, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and at least two years of experience in a surgical or trauma ICU setting. They will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment and strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the healthcare team. On top of this, they must possess a deep commitment to patient advocacy, evidence-based practice, and the highest standards of patient care. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality care to patients with life-threatening illnesses and injuries in a surgical or trauma ICU setting.
  2. Assess patient condition and develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  3. Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust nursing care plans as necessary.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, physicians, and other healthcare team members.
  6. Ensure that patient safety and quality of care are top priorities.
  7. Maintain detailed patient records and ensure accuracy of information.
  8. Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  9. Participate in staff meetings and other educational activities to stay up-to-date on changes in medical treatments and regulations.
  10. Maintain a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient advocacy.
