Public Safety Officer

- Monitor and patrol Deaconess Health System facilities to ensure the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fires, and security breaches.
- Maintain a high level of vigilance and attention to detail to identify and address potential security threats.
- Enforce hospital policies and procedures to maintain order and prevent disruptive or dangerous behavior.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients, visitors, and staff with directions, information, and other needs.
- Communicate effectively with emergency services personnel and other hospital staff to coordinate response efforts.
- Conduct regular inspections of hospital property to identify and report safety hazards and maintenance issues.
- Investigate and document incidents and accidents, and provide detailed reports to hospital administration.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on security procedures and best practices.
- Serve as a role model for professional conduct and adherence to ethical standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the public safety team to ensure a cohesive and coordinated approach to security.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations related to hospital security and public safety.
- Act as a first responder in situations involving aggression, violence, or other potentially dangerous behaviors.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment by treating all individuals with empathy and compassion.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Is Typically Required For A Public Safety Officer Position At Deaconess Health System. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Job.
Law Enforcement Or Security Experience: Previous Experience In Law Enforcement Or Security Is Highly Desirable For A Public Safety Officer Position. This Experience Provides The Necessary Skills And Knowledge To Handle Emergency Situations And Maintain A Safe Environment.
First Aid And Cpr Certification: Public Safety Officers At Deaconess Health System Are Required To Have Current First Aid And Cpr Certification. This Ensures That They Are Prepared To Handle Medical Emergencies That May Arise.
Physical Fitness: The Role Of A Public Safety Officer Requires Physical Fitness And The Ability To Perform Physically Demanding Tasks Such As Running, Lifting, And Restraining Individuals If Necessary. Candidates Should Be Able To Pass A Physical Fitness Test.
