
PRN Patient Care Technician - Med/Surg

- Provide compassionate and dedicated care to patients in the Med/Surg unit.
- Support and assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by physicians or nurses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of care provided.
- Assist with patient transportation and transfers, including using proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement a plan of care for each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to provide high-quality and patient-centered care.
- Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance knowledge and skills in patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Prn Patient Care Technician At Deaconess Health System Should Have A Minimum Educational Qualification Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Candidates With A Valid Cna Certification Will Be Given Preference As It Demonstrates A Basic Understanding Of Patient Care And Clinical Procedures.
Previous Experience In A Med/Surg Setting: Candidates With Prior Experience Working In A Medical-Surgical Unit Will Be Preferred As They Will Have A Better Understanding Of The Job Responsibilities And Can Adapt Quickly To The Fast-Paced Environment.
Basic Life Support (Bls) Certification: As A Prn Patient Care Technician, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Providing Basic Patient Care, Including Administering Medication And Assisting With Procedures. Having A Valid Bls Certification Ensures That The Candidate Is Trained In Basic Life-Saving Techniques And Can Handle Emergency Situations.
Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working As A Prn Patient Care Technician Requires Strong Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Additionally, The Candidate Should Be A Team Player And Be Able To Work Collaboratively With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
