Physician Advisor

The Deaconess Health System is searching for a highly knowledgeable and motivated Physician Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical guidance and expertise to ensure optimal patient care outcomes. You will assess and provide guidance on the appropriateness of inpatient care, utilization of resources, and quality of care. To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong clinical knowledge base, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. Responsibilities:

1. Assess and provide guidance on the appropriateness of inpatient care, utilization of resources, and quality of care.
2. Develop clinical protocols and policies to ensure patient safety and optimal care outcomes.
3. Collaborate with medical staff and other healthcare personnel to evaluate and improve the quality of care.
4. Monitor patient care and utilization of resources to ensure compliance with clinical protocols.
5. Educate medical staff on clinical protocols and best practices.
6. Act as a liaison between the hospital and insurance companies to ensure patient care is covered.
7. Review patient charts and other medical documents to ascertain the appropriateness of care.
8. Analyze trends in patient care and recommend strategies for improvement.
9. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
10. Stay abreast of updates and changes in healthcare regulations and policies.
