- Collect and process blood samples from patients, following all safety and infection control protocols.
- Ensure accurate and timely labeling and handling of all samples to maintain sample integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner, putting their comfort and well-being as a top priority.
- Utilize proper documentation techniques to accurately record patient information and test results.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of test results.
- Stay up-to-date with current phlebotomy techniques, safety protocols, and equipment.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and questions with empathy and professionalism.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering necessary supplies for the phlebotomy department.
- Troubleshoot any issues with equipment or samples, and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Attend continuing education and training programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Meet productivity goals and work collaboratively with team members to achieve departmental objectives.

Certification In Phlebotomy: Candidates For A Phlebotomist Position At Deaconess Health System Must Possess A Recognized Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution.
Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Healthcare Setting Is Required For This Role At Deaconess Health System.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Candidates Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Be Able To Accurately Identify And Label Collected Samples.
Attention To Detail: The Ability To Follow Strict Procedures And Accurately Record And Label Collected Samples Is Crucial For A Phlebotomist At Deaconess Health System.
