
Phlebotomist
The Deaconess Health System is seeking an experienced and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient records and adhering to all safety and compliance regulations.To excel in this role, you must have exceptional communication and organizational skills, as well as a professional demeanor. You must also demonstrate the ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy. A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this role, as well as a valid phlebotomy certification. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood samples from patients in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
- Maintain patient records and adhere to all safety and compliance regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Perform all necessary phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and capillary collections.
- Follow all safety protocols and medical guidelines.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of blood samples.
- Prepare and label laboratory specimens for analysis.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Document and record patient information in the electronic medical record system.
