
Patient Care Technician - PACU

- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse in the PACU, including assessing vital signs, monitoring patients' status, and assisting with personal care needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients by following infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from the PACU, including using appropriate lifting and transferring techniques.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions to medications or anesthesia and report any concerns to the nursing staff.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner, including vital signs, intake and output, and any interventions performed.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the recovery process.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure quality patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve clinical skills and knowledge.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, and colleagues at all times.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.
Completion Of A Recognized Patient Care Technician Training Program Or Equivalent Experience In A Healthcare Setting.
Current Certification As A Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Or Emergency Medical Technician (Emt) In The State Of Employment.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In An Acute Care Or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (Pacu) Setting.
Strong Knowledge Of Patient Care Techniques And Procedures, Including Vital Signs Monitoring, Wound Care, And Infection Control.
