Patient Care Technician - Observation (PCT)

1. Provide direct patient care: As a Patient Care Technician, you will be responsible for assisting patients with their daily needs, including bathing, grooming, and toileting. You will also be responsible for taking vital signs, monitoring patients' conditions, and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
2. Collaborate with healthcare team: In this role, you will work closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and comprehensive care to patients. You will communicate important information about patients' conditions and assist with implementing care plans.
3. Maintain patient safety: As a member of the observation unit, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our patients at all times. This includes following infection control protocols, preventing falls, and responding to emergencies.
4. Assist with procedures: You will have the opportunity to work alongside physicians and nurses to assist with various medical procedures. This may include setting up equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and providing support during the process.
5. Document patient information: Accurate and timely documentation is a crucial aspect of patient care. In this role, you will be responsible for documenting patient information, including vital signs, medications administered, and any changes in their condition.
6. Provide emotional support: Our patients may be going through difficult times, and it is important to provide them with emotional support. As a Patient Care Technician, you will be expected to listen to patients' concerns, offer comfort and reassurance, and provide a compassionate presence.
7. Maintain a clean and organized environment: You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized patient care area, including stocking supplies and equipment, as well as cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms.
