Patient Access Intake Specialist

Deaconess Health System is seeking an experienced and customer service-oriented Patient Access Intake Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing a positive patient experience. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the patient registration process, verifying patient eligibility and insurance, and collecting patient payments.To be successful in this role, you must possess a minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, be knowledgeable of medical coding, and have a working knowledge of computer systems and software applications. In addition, you must possess a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

1. Manage the patient registration process, verifying patient eligibility and insurance
2. Collect patient payments
3. Utilize medical coding knowledge to accurately register patients
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computer systems and software applications
5. Ensure a positive patient experience by providing excellent customer service
6. Multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
7. Follow all applicable laws and regulations
8. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor when interacting with patients and staff
9. Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints
