Network Engineer

At Deaconess Health System, we are searching for a highly motivated and experienced Network Engineer to join our team and help ensure our world-class IT infrastructure is well-maintained and optimized. The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem-solver with excellent communication and organizational skills. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of network systems in order to help ensure reliable and secure network infrastructure.To be successful in this position, we are looking for a Network Engineer with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Additionally, it is required that the successful candidate have experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper Junos, as well as experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Windows Server Administration, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange. Professional certifications such as the Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) are a plus.If you have the qualifications and enthusiasm to take on this role, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network systems, including Cisco IOS and/or Juniper Junos
2. Configure and install network systems and services, including Palo Alto Firewalls, Windows Server Administration, VMware, and Microsoft Exchange
3. Monitor and maintain network performance and reliability
4. Develop and implement network security measures, such as firewalls and encryption protocols
5. Analyze network traffic and performance issues
6. Identify, diagnose, and resolve network problems quickly
7. Document network configuration and architecture
8. Research and evaluate new technology, products, and services
9. Train and mentor other network engineers
10. Participate in meetings with stakeholders to discuss IT initiatives and projects
