Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our team at Deaconess Health System. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our patients' well-being and assisting the healthcare team in providing effective treatment.   1. Provide direct care and support to patients with mental health needs.
  2. Monitor and assist patients with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meals, and medication management.
  3. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  5. Monitor patients for any changes in behavior or condition and report any concerns to the healthcare team.
  6. Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation of potentially volatile situations.
  7. Foster a positive and supportive environment for patients, promoting their well-being and recovery.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Educate patients and families on coping strategies and resources for managing mental health issues.
  10. Stay updated on current treatments and best practices in the field of mental health.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in the care of patients.
  12. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  13. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of treatment plans.
  14. Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during their treatment.
  15. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  16. Continuously strive to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
  17. Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
  18. Handle documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  19. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and non-judgment in all interactions with patients.
  20. Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Families, And Healthcare Team Members.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Psychology, Social Work, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Mental Health Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.

  • Knowledge Of Mental Health Disorders And Treatment Methods, Including Crisis Intervention Techniques.

  • Ability To Handle Emotionally Challenging Situations And Maintain A Calm And Professional Demeanor At All Times.
