
Medical Records Specialist
Are you an organized, detail-oriented individual who loves to work with medical records? Deaconess Health System is looking for a Medical Records Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining patient records in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as Deaconess Health System policies and procedures.To be considered for this position, you must possess an associate degree in Health Information Management or a related field, as well as at least two years of experience in a medical records or medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical record filing systems is also required. We are looking for a team player who is an excellent communicator and highly organized, with great attention to detail and excellent problem solving skills.If you have the qualifications and experience we are looking for, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities: -Organize and maintain patient records in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as Deaconess Health System policies and procedures -Ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all medical records -Carry out medical coding and medical record filing systems -Provide excellent customer service and communication with patients, staff, and other stakeholders -Analyze medical records to identify potential issues -Maintain accurate documentation and records of all patient encounters -Monitor compliance with policies and procedures -Assist in developing and implementing new clinical protocols -Provide training and guidance to other staff members on medical records processes and procedures -Perform other duties as assigned by management
