
Medical Office Assistant-Rheumatology

- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for patients using our electronic scheduling system.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and obtaining insurance information.
- Maintain patient records and ensure that all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure that they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Take and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Assist healthcare providers during procedures and examinations.
- Communicate test results and follow-up instructions to patients on behalf of healthcare providers.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide coordinated and comprehensive care to patients.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Keep inventory of medical supplies and equipment and reorder when necessary.
- Assist with billing and coding processes to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry developments and best practices.

Degree In Medical Office Administration Or Related Field: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree Or Certification In Medical Office Administration Is Required For This Position. This Demonstrates A Foundation Of Knowledge In Medical Terminology, Billing And Coding, And Electronic Health Records.
Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Medical Office, Preferably In A Rheumatology Practice, Is Highly Desirable. This Shows Familiarity With The Specific Needs And Demands Of A Healthcare Environment.
Knowledge Of Rheumatology: A Strong Understanding Of Rheumatology And Related Conditions Is Essential For This Position. This Includes Knowledge Of Common Medications, Procedures, And Terminology Used In Rheumatology.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Medical Office Assistant In Rheumatology, You Will Be Interacting With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Providing High-Quality Care And Building Positive Relationships.
