Job Description

Deaconess Health System is looking for an experienced, innovative, and compassionate leader to join our team as Medical Director of Patient Safety. We are looking for someone who is passionate about improving patient safety outcomes and creating a culture of safety in our organization. This is a highly visible role that will require the successful candidate to have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to excellence, and a strong understanding of healthcare systems.The Medical Director of Patient Safety will be responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs and strategies across Deaconess Health System. This position requires a medical degree and experience with patient safety initiatives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing patient safety initiatives, analyzing data to assess safety trends, and providing feedback to healthcare teams. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of evidence-based practices and be able to effectively communicate safety practices to healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement patient safety programs and strategies across Deaconess Health System.
  2. Analyze data to assess safety trends and provide feedback to healthcare teams.
  3. Utilize evidence-based practices to communicate safety practices to healthcare teams.
  4. Monitor patient safety initiatives to ensure they are being implemented effectively.
  5. Create a culture of safety by encouraging healthcare teams to follow patient safety protocols.
  6. Attend conferences and seminars to stay up-to-date on patient safety trends and best practices.
  7. Develop and implement patient safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
  8. Provide training and education to healthcare teams on patient safety topics.
  9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify and address potential risks to patient safety.
  10. Investigate and evaluate incidents to identify areas of improvement and develop corrective action plans.
