Job Description

  1. Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  2. Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify potential areas of infection risk and develop strategies for prevention and control.
  3. Train and educate staff on infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and proper cleaning and disinfection techniques.
  4. Monitor and track infectious diseases within the facility and report any outbreaks to appropriate authorities.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper isolation and management of patients with infectious diseases.
  6. Stay up-to-date on current infection control practices and guidelines, and make recommendations for updates to policies and procedures as needed.
  7. Investigate and report any incidents of healthcare-associated infections, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  8. Maintain accurate records and data related to infection control, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  9. Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response efforts to potential outbreaks or pandemics.
  10. Serve as a resource and liaison for infection control matters between the organization and external healthcare agencies.
  11. Conduct research and stay informed on emerging infectious diseases and potential healthcare-associated risks.
  12. Foster a culture of infection prevention by promoting awareness and best practices among staff, patients, and visitors.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure infection control measures are integrated into all aspects of patient care and facility operations.
  14. Adhere to ethical and professional standards and maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve infection control processes to ensure the highest level of patient safety and well-being.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Healthcare Field.

  • Certification In Infection Prevention And Control (Cic) From A Recognized Organization Such As The Association For Professionals In Infection Control And Epidemiology (Apic).

  • Minimum Of 2-3 Years Experience In Infection Prevention And Control In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge Of Infection Prevention Practices, Including Surveillance, Outbreak Management, And Environmental Cleaning.

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Educate And Train Healthcare Staff On Infection Prevention Protocols And Procedures.
