- Perform cardiac ultrasound examinations on patients to assess heart function and diagnose potential heart conditions.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients and accurate placement of ultrasound equipment to obtain quality images.
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and department protocols.
- Review patient medical history and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate scan parameters.
- Accurately document and record ultrasound findings, maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate with patients to provide information about the procedure and address any concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to discuss patient cases and provide recommendations for further treatment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
- Keep up-to-date on advancements in cardiac sonography and participate in continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Provide exceptional patient care by demonstrating compassion, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and other payers to ensure proper billing and coding for procedures.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for other cardiac sonographers and students, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in departmental meetings and trainings to stay informed of new protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Represent Deaconess Health System in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare System.
Bachelor's Degree Or Associate's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or Related Field.
Certified By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) In Adult Echocardiography.
Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Echocardiography Equipment, Including 2D, M-Mode, Doppler, And Stress Testing.
Strong Knowledge Of Cardiac Anatomy And Physiology, As Well As Understanding Of Cardiac Disease Processes And Treatment Options.
