- Conduct consultations, evaluations, and follow-up appointments with patients to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders.
- Perform diagnostic procedures, such as endoscopies and colonoscopies, to identify and evaluate conditions affecting the digestive system.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients, taking into consideration their medical history, symptoms, and test results.
- Collaborate with other physicians and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Stay current with advancements in the field of gastroenterology and incorporate new techniques and treatments into practice.
- Educate patients on their condition, treatment options, and preventative measures to improve their overall health and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient consultations, procedures, and treatment plans.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards, as well as Deaconess Health System policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a positive and comfortable experience.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall success of Deaconess Health System.
- Continuously assess and improve personal skills and knowledge through continuing education opportunities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent Deaconess Health System positively in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
- Promote a culture of compassion, respect, and teamwork within the gastroenterology department and throughout the organization.
Medical Degree: A Gastroenterologist At Deaconess Health System Must Have A Doctor Of Medicine (Md) Or Doctor Of Osteopathic Medicine (Do) Degree From An Accredited Medical School.
Residency And Fellowship Training: Candidates Should Have Completed A Residency In Internal Medicine And A Fellowship In Gastroenterology, Both Accredited By The Accreditation Council For Graduate Medical Education (Acgme).
Board Certification: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Board Certified In Gastroenterology By The American Board Of Internal Medicine (Abim) Or The American Osteopathic Board Of Internal Medicine (Aobim).
State Medical License: Candidates Must Hold A Valid License To Practice Medicine In The State Of Indiana, Where Deaconess Health System Is Located.
Relevant Experience: Deaconess Health System Prefers Candidates With At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working As A Gastroenterologist, Preferably In A Hospital Setting. Experience In Performing Endoscopic Procedures Is Also Highly Desirable.
