- Prepare and deliver meals to patients according to their dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Assist with menu planning and preparation for special diets.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patients' specific dietary needs are met.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families, addressing any concerns or requests.

Experience In The Food Service Industry: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Food Service Setting, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Environment. This Will Ensure They Have A Good Understanding Of Food Safety, Dietary Restrictions, And Portion Control.
Knowledge Of Nutrition And Dietary Requirements: A Food Service Representative Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Nutrition And Special Dietary Needs, Such As Low Sodium, Gluten-Free, Or Vegan Diets. This Will Enable Them To Assist Patients In Selecting Appropriate Meal Options And Answer Any Questions They May Have.
Excellent Customer Service Skills: As A Representative Of Deaconess Health System, It Is Important For The Candidate To Have Strong Customer Service Skills. This Includes Being Friendly, Approachable, And Able To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Visitors, And Healthcare Staff.
Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: The Food Service Industry Can Be Fast-Paced, Especially In A Hospital Setting. Candidates Should Be Able To Work Efficiently Under Pressure, Multitask, And Prioritize Tasks To Ensure Meals Are Delivered On Time.
Food Safety Certification: A Valid Food Safety Certification, Such As Servsafe, Is Required For This Position. This Will Demonstrate That The Candidate Has A Good Understanding Of Proper Food Handling, Storage, And Sanitation Practices, Which Are Essential In A Healthcare Setting To Prevent Foodborne Illnesses.
