  1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on inpatient population according to established protocols and standards.
  2. Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care.
  4. Monitor and assess patient's condition during procedures and report any abnormalities or concerns to healthcare team.
  5. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  6. Maintain patient records and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  7. Educate patients about procedures and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  8. Stay up-to-date on advancements and changes in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
  9. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and healthcare team members.
  12. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  14. Collaborate with other sonographers to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
  15. Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct.
  16. Attend and participate in department meetings and trainings.
  17. Assist with training and mentoring new sonographers.
  18. Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
  19. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  20. Strive to continuously improve and enhance the quality of care provided to patients.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program: A Qualified Candidate For A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer- Inpatient Position At Deaconess Health System Should Have Completed An Accredited Program In Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Either At The Associate Or Bachelor's Degree Level.

  • Certification By The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms): Deaconess Health System Requires All Diagnostic Medical Sonographers To Be Certified By The Ardms, Which Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Adherence To Professional Standards.

  • Experience In Performing A Wide Range Of Diagnostic Ultrasound Procedures: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Performing A Variety Of Diagnostic Ultrasound Procedures, Including Abdominal, Obstetrical, Gynecological, Vascular, And Musculoskeletal Exams.

  • Knowledge Of Current Technology And Equipment: Deaconess Health System Is Committed To Providing The Highest Quality Care To Patients, And Therefore Requires Candidates To Have A Strong Understanding Of Current Ultrasound Technology And Equipment, Including 3D And 4D Imaging.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: In An Inpatient Setting, Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Must Work Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.
