Job Description

Deaconess Health System is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Cancer Registrar to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a highly organized professional with a deep knowledge of cancer registry operations and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.The Cancer Registrar will be responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of cancer patient data in accordance with national standards and state requirements. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and analytical skills. The successful candidate must have a thorough understanding of data collection, coding, and reporting procedures, as well as a broad knowledge of medical and cancer terminology.To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a minimum of two years of cancer registry experience, along with a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification. Knowledge of the Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards is also desired. Responsibilities:

  1. Collect, analyze, and report cancer patient data according to national standards and state requirements.
  2. Utilize excellent communication and analytical skills to ensure the accuracy of patient data.
  3. Maintain a thorough understanding of data collection, coding, and reporting procedures.
  4. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of medical and cancer terminology.
  5. Stay up-to-date on the latest Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards.
  6. Provide exceptional patient care and customer service.
  7. Ensure patient health information is kept confidential and secure at all times.
  8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes.
  9. Respond promptly and accurately to any inquiries or requests from patients or other healthcare providers.
  10. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of cancer registry information.
