Authorization Benefit Specialist

Deaconess Health System is searching for an experienced Authorization Benefit Specialist to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for verifying patient eligibility and authorization of benefits for services rendered to our patients. To be successful in this role, you must have a thorough understanding of medical insurance and reimbursement procedures. Responsibilities:

1. Verify patient eligibility and authorization of benefits for services rendered to our patients.
2. Ensure compliance with all applicable insurance regulations.
3. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all authorization requests and patient information.
4. Identify and resolve discrepancies or problems with medical insurance eligibility and authorization of benefits.
5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality patient care.
6. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
7. Respond promptly to inquiries and complaints from patients and insurance companies.
8. Maintain current knowledge of healthcare trends, regulations, and best practices.
9. Perform all other duties as assigned.
