
Strategic Growth Category Manager
As Strategic Growth Category Manager you will be responsible for leading tailored merchandising activity and strategy on a national scale, and for driving growth in thousands of stores which benefit from a new format designed around Value and innovation. Develop analytical materials to be shared internally during category reviews and assortment discussions with the Merchandising team. Develop “Ask” materials to be shared with vendors during negotiations. Provide direct vendor negotiations support to Merchants. Utilize sourcing tools and processes to ensure selection of best vendors for Store Brand and other commoditized products (considering cost, quality, value, availability, etc.). You will maintain competitive analysis throughout; maintaining a pulse of the competitive marketplace with periodic field visits. Run test programs to inform long-term innovation and positioning.
1-3 years of experience in a retail organization and in an analytical, merchandising, or buying position
Previous retail experience strongly preferred
Experience or working knowledge of IRI or Nielsen market data
Familiarity with plan-o-gram tools a plus
GMROI analysis experience a plus
