1. Dispensing Medications: Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to state and federal laws, company policies, and professional standards.
2. Patient Consultation: Provide patient counseling and education on medications, potential side effects, and proper usage to ensure their understanding and adherence.
3. Medication Monitoring: Monitor patient medication therapy for effectiveness, adverse reactions, interactions, and other potential issues and communicate with healthcare providers as needed.
4. Prescription Processing: Accurately and promptly process prescriptions, including entering and verifying patient and prescription information, insurance coverage, and payment.
5. Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate inventory levels of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and disposal according to company and regulatory guidelines.
6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures relating to pharmacy operations.
7. Teamwork: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to patients, including assisting with patient care services and managing workflow.
8. Training and Supervision: Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable and competent in their duties.
9. Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance activities, including medication dispensing accuracy checks, documentation audits, and monitoring of pharmacy processes and procedures.
10. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and other customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
