Sterile Processing Technician

Covenant Health Care is looking for an experienced Sterile Processing Technician who is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a positive attitude. We are seeking someone with a minimum of one year of sterile processing technician experience, preferably in a hospital setting, as well as a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of instrumentation, sterilization, and decontamination techniques, and experience with cleaning, assembling, and packaging of sterile instruments is a must. Candidates must also be able to pass a background check. The Sterile Processing Technician is an integral part of the healthcare team and plays a significant role in ensuring that all medical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. This position requires an individual with a high level of commitment to patient safety and quality assurance.

Responsibilities of a Sterile Processing Technician:

• Ensure all medical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized, cleaned, assembled, and packaged. • Adhere to health and safety standards and regulations. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. • Perform quality assurance checks on instrumentation and equipment. • Document all steps of processing, cleaning, and sterilization. • Prepare medical instruments for use in surgery, emergencies, and other procedures. • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for patients. • Assist with the inventory control of medical instruments and equipment. • Ensure that all sterilization and decontamination processes are performed in accordance with established guidelines and protocols. • Assist with preventative maintenance of sterilization equipment and instrumentation. • Identify and report any safety hazards or issues. • Monitor and maintain sterile processing supplies.
