  1. Conduct statistical analyses: The Principal Statistician will be responsible for conducting statistical analyses on research and development projects in the healthcare industry. This includes designing experiments, selecting appropriate statistical methods, and interpreting results.
  2. Provide expertise in statistical methodology: The Principal Statistician will be expected to have a deep understanding of statistical methodology and be able to apply it to complex problems. This includes staying up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and making recommendations for the most appropriate approaches to use in different situations.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: This role will involve working closely with other team members, including scientists, researchers, and project managers, to ensure that statistical analyses are aligned with project goals and timelines.
  4. Develop statistical plans: The Principal Statistician will be responsible for developing statistical plans for research projects, including defining objectives, selecting appropriate statistical methods, and outlining data collection and analysis processes.
  5. Ensure data quality and integrity: It will be the responsibility of the Principal Statistician to ensure that the data used in statistical analyses is accurate, reliable, and of high quality. This may involve identifying and addressing potential biases and conducting data cleaning and validation procedures.
  6. Communicate results and recommendations: The Principal Statistician will be expected to effectively communicate statistical results and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes creating visualizations and presentations to aid in the understanding and interpretation of data.
  7. Drive innovation: As a highly skilled and experienced statistician, the Principal Statistician will be expected to actively seek out new and innovative ways to apply statistical methods to research projects and drive continuous improvement within the team.
  8. Mentor and train junior statisticians: The Principal Statistician may be responsible for mentoring and training junior statisticians on statistical methodologies, data analysis, and best practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree In Statistics: A Principal Statistician Should Have A Minimum Of A Master's Degree In Statistics Or A Related Field. A Phd Is Preferred And May Be Required For Certain Positions.

  • Extensive Experience In Statistical Analysis: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5-7 Years Of Experience In Statistical Analysis, Preferably In A Pharmaceutical Or Clinical Research Setting. They Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Statistical Methodologies, Clinical Trial Design, And Regulatory Requirements.

  • Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency In Statistical Software Such As Sas, R, Or Spss Is Essential For This Role. The Candidate Should Have Experience In Data Management, Statistical Programming, And Data Visualization.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills: As A Remote Principal Statistician, The Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams And Clients. They Should Also Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Manage And Mentor Junior Statisticians.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: A Principal Statistician Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Regulatory Guidelines Such As Fda, Ich, And Gcp. They Should Also Have Experience Working On Submissions To Regulatory Agencies And Responding To Queries.
