  1. Perform phlebotomy procedures with precision and accuracy in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
  2. Collect blood samples from study participants using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  3. Handle and process blood samples with care to ensure accurate and timely testing.
  4. Maintain detailed and accurate records of phlebotomy procedures and sample collection.
  5. Communicate effectively with study participants, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
  6. Follow standard operating procedures and adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment and properly dispose of biohazardous materials.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to phlebotomy procedures or equipment.
  9. Continuously monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
  11. Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the phlebotomy process.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service to study participants and ensure their comfort and safety during phlebotomy procedures.
  13. Adhere to company values and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  14. Contribute to quality control and assurance processes to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of all study participants and their data.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification And Training: A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Should Possess A Valid Certification From An Accredited Phlebotomy Training Program. This Includes A Comprehensive Understanding Of Blood Collection Techniques, Safety Protocols, And Medical Terminology.

  • Experience: A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting Is Preferred. This Demonstrates The Ability To Handle Various Types Of Blood Draws, Work With Different Patient Populations, And Follow Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Quality Control And Regulatory Standards: A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Must Be Well-Versed In Quality Control Measures And Regulatory Standards To Ensure Accurate And Consistent Blood Collection And Handling. This Includes Knowledge Of Clia, Osha, And Hipaa Regulations.

  • Attention To Detail: The Ability To Accurately Identify Patients, Correctly Label Specimens, And Maintain Detailed Records Is Crucial In This Role. A Phlebotomist Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Protocols Precisely To Ensure The Integrity Of The Samples.

  • Interpersonal And Communication Skills: As A Phlebotomist, You Will Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds. Strong Communication Skills, Compassion, And Empathy Are Essential For Creating A Positive And Comfortable Experience For Patients. Additionally, The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Colleagues And Other Healthcare Professionals Is Crucial For Proper Sample Collection And Handling.
