- Supervise and manage a team of phlebotomists to ensure efficient and safe collection of blood samples for clinical trials and research studies.
- Train and onboard new phlebotomists, ensuring they are knowledgeable and proficient in all necessary procedures and protocols.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of phlebotomists, providing feedback and support as needed to maintain a high level of quality and productivity.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for phlebotomy processes and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Manage the scheduling and allocation of phlebotomists to various studies and projects, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure smooth and timely execution of study protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of phlebotomy activities, including sample collection, processing, and shipping.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment, ensuring proper functioning and timely restocking.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of phlebotomy services.
- Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in phlebotomy, and share knowledge and skills with the team.
- Serve as a role model for the team, exhibiting professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to high standards of patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, and ensure that phlebotomists are following proper procedures.
- Collaborate with human resources to recruit and hire qualified phlebotomists, and participate in the performance evaluation and promotion process.
- Represent Covance and its mission in a positive and professional manner to clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Report any issues or concerns to management and work towards finding solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience As A Certified Phlebotomist In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting.
Bachelor's Degree In A Related Field Such As Medical Technology, Nursing, Or Healthcare Administration.
Previous Experience In A Supervisory Or Leadership Role, With Demonstrated Ability To Manage And Mentor A Team Of Phlebotomists.
Strong Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Techniques, Safety Protocols, And Equipment.
Excellent Communication, Organizational, And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure And Handle Multiple Tasks Simultaneously.
