Certification: A Phlebotomist Specialist At Covance-Labcorp Must Hold A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).
Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist, Preferably In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Venipuncture Techniques And Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures.
Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: A Phlebotomist Specialist Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Be Able To Accurately Label, Process, And Transport Blood Specimens For Testing. They Should Also Be Familiar With Laboratory Safety Protocols And Quality Control Procedures.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role. Phlebotomist Specialists Must Be Able To Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds, As Well As Work Effectively With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.
