  1. Conduct blood draws and collect other specimens with precision and accuracy.
  2. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during the phlebotomy process.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  4. Adhere to all relevant safety and infection control protocols.
  5. Verify patient information and accurately label and record specimens.
  6. Handle and store specimens properly to maintain sample integrity.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  8. Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  9. Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow.
  11. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to specimen collection or processing.
  12. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
  13. Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  16. Respond to and resolve any patient concerns or complaints.
  17. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in best practices.
  18. Assist with training and mentoring new phlebotomy team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Phlebotomist Specialist At Covance-Labcorp Must Hold A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Phlebotomist, Preferably In A Clinical Or Laboratory Setting. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Venipuncture Techniques And Knowledge Of Blood Collection Procedures.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: A Phlebotomist Specialist Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Be Able To Accurately Label, Process, And Transport Blood Specimens For Testing. They Should Also Be Familiar With Laboratory Safety Protocols And Quality Control Procedures.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role. Phlebotomist Specialists Must Be Able To Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds, As Well As Work Effectively With Other Members Of The Healthcare Team.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Phlebotomist Specialist, Attention To Detail Is Crucial To Ensure Accurate And Reliable Test Results. Candidates Should Have A Strong Eye For Detail And Be Able To Follow Strict Protocols To Avoid Any Errors In Specimen Collection Or Handling.
