  • Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients in a safe, accurate, and timely manner
  • Follow established protocols and safety measures to ensure proper collection and handling of specimens
  • Build rapport and provide excellent customer service to patients during all interactions
  • Maintain and organize phlebotomy supplies and equipment to ensure efficient and effective workflow
  • Accurately label and document specimens and maintain proper chain of custody
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, regarding specimen collection and processing
  • Adhere to all quality control and quality assurance standards to ensure accurate and reliable test results
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow all HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the phlebotomy department
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of An Accredited Phlebotomy Program: A Candidate For A Phlebotomist Position At Covance-Labcorp Should Have Completed An Accredited Phlebotomy Program, Which Includes Both Didactic Coursework And Hands-On Clinical Training.

  • Certification From A Recognized Organization: Covance-Labcorp May Require Candidates To Hold A Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Healthcareer Association (Nha).

  • Knowledge Of Phlebotomy Techniques And Procedures: A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Phlebotomy Techniques And Procedures, Including Venipuncture, Capillary Puncture, And Specimen Handling And Processing.

  • Familiarity With Laboratory Equipment And Safety Protocols: Candidates Should Be Familiar With The Use Of Laboratory Equipment And Adhere To Safety Protocols When Handling Blood Specimens And Other Biological Samples.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp As They Will Be Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Laboratory Staff On A Daily Basis.
