  1. Conduct phlebotomy procedures in a safe and efficient manner, following established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Provide exceptional patient care and ensure their comfort during the collection process.
  3. Accurately identify patients and verify orders to ensure proper specimen collection.
  4. Collect and label specimens, ensuring proper labeling and documentation for accurate processing and testing.
  5. Handle and process collected specimens according to laboratory procedures and protocols.
  6. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  9. Keep up-to-date with industry standards, best practices, and advancements in phlebotomy techniques.
  10. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all phlebotomy procedures.
  11. Identify and report any issues or concerns with specimens, equipment, or procedures to the appropriate personnel.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and accurate test results.
  13. Attend and participate in training and educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
  14. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and compliance guidelines.
  15. Contribute to a positive and professional work environment by demonstrating teamwork, integrity, and excellent customer service.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Should Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From A Recognized Institution, Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa).

  • Prior Experience: Covance-Labcorp Prefers Candidates With At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy. This Experience Can Be Gained Through Internships, Externships, Or Previous Employment In A Similar Role.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures: A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures And Protocols. This Includes Knowledge Of Specimen Collection, Handling, And Processing.

  • Attention To Detail: As A Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp, One Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate And Precise Specimen Collection. This Includes Proper Labeling, Documentation, And Handling Of Specimens.

  • Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Successful Phlebotomist At Covance-Labcorp Should Have Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills. This Includes The Ability To Interact With Patients Of All Ages And Backgrounds, As Well As Effectively Communicate With Colleagues And Other Healthcare Professionals.
