  1. Oversee the daily operations of the blood bank department and ensure the timely and accurate processing of samples.
  2. Manage a team of laboratory professionals, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  3. Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the blood bank department.
  4. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including FDA, AABB, and CLIA.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain efficient operations.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of activities.
  7. Troubleshoot any technical issues and provide guidance and support to staff.
  8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with company policies and regulations.
  9. Keep up-to-date with industry advancements and trends in blood bank operations and implement necessary changes to improve processes.
  10. Conduct regular quality control checks and implement corrective actions as needed.
  11. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, management, and clients to provide updates and address any concerns.
  12. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all procedures and results.
  13. Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary information and addressing any findings.
  14. Monitor and manage department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  15. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  16. Act as a mentor to team members, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their career goals.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Blood Bank Or Transfusion Service Laboratory.

  • Ascp Or Other Nationally Recognized Certification In Medical Technology Or Blood Banking.

  • Demonstrated Leadership Experience, Including Managing A Team And Coordinating Laboratory Operations.

  • Extensive Knowledge And Understanding Of Regulatory Requirements And Quality Control Procedures In A Blood Bank Setting.
