Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lab Manager to join our team at Covance-Labcorp's Anatomic Pathology department. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations, including managing a team of technicians, ensuring quality control and compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting research and development projects.   1. Oversee all aspects of laboratory operations, including but not limited to scheduling, equipment maintenance, and supply ordering.
  2. Manage and lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
  3. Ensure quality control and compliance with regulatory standards, including CAP, CLIA, and FDA.
  4. Collaborate with other departments and teams to support research and development projects.
  5. Develop and implement new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in laboratory operations.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of laboratory activities and results.
  7. Monitor and manage budget and expenses for the laboratory.
  8. Stay current with industry developments and best practices in anatomic pathology.
  9. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
  10. Participate in the hiring and onboarding of new laboratory staff.
  11. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agencies.
  12. Identify and troubleshoot any issues or problems that may arise in the laboratory.
  13. Ensure a safe and compliant working environment for all laboratory staff.
  14. Conduct performance evaluations for laboratory staff and provide feedback and coaching for improvement.
  15. Represent the laboratory in meetings and conferences as needed.
  16. Act as a liaison between the laboratory and other departments within the company.
  17. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all laboratory activities.
  18. Continuously evaluate and improve laboratory processes and procedures to maintain high quality and efficiency.
  19. Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  20. Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for the laboratory.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Scientific Field, Such As Biology, Chemistry, Or Pathology.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Laboratory Setting, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Or Management Role.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Laboratory Operations And Procedures, Particularly In The Area Of Anatomic Pathology.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Ability To Effectively Manage A Team Of Laboratory Technicians And Scientists.

  • Familiarity With Regulatory Guidelines And Compliance Requirements, Such As Clia And Cap, As They Pertain To Anatomic Pathology.
